Coaches - Upper School

Lacrosse Coaches needed (Head and Assistant) for the season running March 14 through June 11, 2011 at Cranbrook’s Upper School. Duties and responsibilities include: teaching/training, counseling/advising students athletes, general program management, professional development, sportsmanship and character development, and budget management. Grounds Worker

Needed to provide basic grounds maintenance services using hand tools, walk behind and riding motorized equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Mow, edge and trim lawns; plant, weed and water flowerbeds; assist with pruning duties; litter and leaf removal; moving of bleachers or picnic tables. Must be capable of standing and/or walking constantly; occasional climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling; pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting over 50 lbs. Requires a High School diploma and a valid Michigan driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Minimum of one year experience in grounds maintenance and the operation of mechanized equipment is preferred. This is a temporary/seasonal position with an assignment length of up to 5 months beginning in August, 2010. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.

Aftercare Staff - Schools
Will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security and well being of students ages 3-11. Cranbrook Schools’ Aftercare program is an extension of the Cranbrook Schools learning environment and winds down the academic day before students return to their families. Responsibilities include management of students, monitoring use of materials, working and playing with the children indoors and outdoors, attending to minor first aid needs, communicating with parents, and communicating with School administration. Hours are 2:15 – 5:30 pm M-F during the school year. Requires one (1) year professional training or practical experience in the field of primary school education or childcare, and maintenance of current CPR/First Aid training. Must be able to relate well to children and team members.
Lifeguard - Williams Natatorium

The Natatorium lifeguard is responsible for ensuring members and guests a safe and positive recreational experience, while upholding the two primary responsibilities - preventing accidents and responding to emergencies. Other duties include: Keep the pool, pool area, locker rooms, and office clean and neat at all times; be knowledgeable of the pool rules and enforce them tactfully; attend all in-service training programs; be knowledgeable about the emergency action plan, pool facilities, equipment, hours of operation, and pool events; other duties as assigned. Current lifeguard training certification, current community CPR certification, and current standard first aid certification are required.

Natatorium Supervisor - Williams Natatorium

The Natatorium Supervisor is responsible for: Monitoring the lifeguards and ensuring that guests follow the natatorium guidelines; being knowledgeable about the emergency action plan, pool facilities, equipment, programs, hours of operation, and pool events; properly completing required maintenance and paperwork of the facility; the proper shut down and opening of the facility when necessary, including monitoring that patrons exit the pool, locker rooms, observation areas and hallways; other duties as assigned. Previous experience instructing, managing, and/or developing programs is required. Previous lifeguard experience and current lifeguard certification are desirable.
